WHAT IS AN MOT?

An MOT is a legally required, yearly check on any on-road vehicle that is more than three years old. Through a large checklist of inspections to conduct and issues to resolve, an MOT is essentially a doctor’s appointment for your vehicle. The MOT test is a minimum roadworthiness test, often misconceived for a service it is checking the roadworthiness of the vehicle at the time of the test and uses an advisory system at testers discretion for non-fail items that is recommended for attention of the driver at earliest convenience.

WHAT IS CHECKED DURING AN MOT?

As mentioned above, an incredible amount of work is put into completing the average MOT. It’s understandable that as a customer you want to know what you’re paying for. The list below highlights some of the inspections conducted during an MOT at Walsall Wood Service.

Brakes are checked to make sure they are in a usable condition and that they are working efficiently.

Seatbelts are checked to ensure they will provide the correct restraint during a road accident.

Tyres are inspected for damage, general wear and tear and tread depth. It is hoped that the correct tyres are already fitted on your vehicle, but this will also be confirmed through inspection.
